She is\u00a0 Young Woman Mediation Ambassador at the International Centre for Peace, Human Rights and Development- IPHRD- Africa; championing the role of young women in peace building and conflict resolution across the country. Hallima is a fellow for the second edition of the 2063 Academy at Atlas for Development and the newly elected youth representative for the Action for Sustainable Development Facilitation Group 2021-2023. The organisation champions the reduction of teen\/early pregnancy, sexual gender based violence, enhancing participation of women and girls in preventing violent extremism and young women participation in leadership and policy advocacy in western Kenya.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nyota mentors young girls at Youth Leaders Stakeholders organisation and Paint a Smile Developmental organisation. In her role as a mentor, she is driven by PASSION: Passion to see a difference in young people that she meets, trains and coaches, Passion to see young people do what they do in a better and more fulfilling way. Leaving young people thinking differently, working in a smarter way and doing what they initially thought they couldn\u2019t do. This satisfies her as she did not have the privilege to get guidance in her earlier life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She has been engaged as a Deputy Director at the International Youth Parliament Kenyan Chapter to champion the agenda of Creating Nations where Young People take the Lead.\u00a0 She leads an online campaign of good governance that involves addressing issues of governance both at County level and National through a tweet chat platform facilitated by Emerging Leaders Foundation under Husika Program. Nyota believes that meaningful youth engagement is the key solution to all the problems facing the young generation.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hallima strives to ensure that she gives maximum support to young women to ensure that they thrive in their society. She likes building relationships and having fun. She has also pursued leadership courses with Emerging Leaders Foundation, Online Institute of Change makers, Commonwealth 100 leadership courses and Jonah Togbah School of Leadership.
